Zenforms offers many very powerful features. Among other things, you can now create different views for your forms with the help of the dropdown selection. For example, you can offer the same form in French, English and German and sort the answers accordingly. This way, the answers remain very clear and furthermore can still be found collectively in one place.

Create a new form view

The best way to do this is to create the form in the original language and then add the additional languages. When a new form is created in Zenforms, a Collection, an Editor view and a Table view are created. Click the "+" icon on the left edge of the Home screen.

Select, "Create a form for an existing collection" to add another form view to an existing form.

Name the new view and select the collection to which you want to add the new view from the drop-down menu. You will now find the new view within the form or collection you selected in the dropdown.

Switching between views

The new view appears at the right edge of the screen of an open form. By clicking on the name of the current view, a dropdown menu opens with all views that exist for your form. Choose the desired view here.

Your views can be edited separately from each other. To open the settings, hover over the name of the view in the dropdown menu and click on "Edit".

Here you can decide whether the controls should be numbered consecutively, whether respondents should be shown the progress, add a duplicate check and also hide the branding. In addition, the success page can be adapted to the respective language here. Send a confirmation email and enable a restart of the form. Use the button "Team View" to enable the view for all members of the collection. If the switch is deactivated (grey), only you can see the view.

Responses and Field Assignment

Just like all other forms, you will find the answers bundled in a table view. To access the answers from the editor, click on the button in the centre above the form.

If you have connected the form to, for example, Zenkit Base or Zenkit Projects via the Zenkit Suite, it is also possible to display your answers in other views. Since the answers from different forms are transferred to a collection, the answers can be matched to each other via field mapping. In order to do this, open the settings of the respective controls.

Select "Field Mapping" and click on the field to which the answers should be matched. If you have a collection with more than two forms, it is a good idea to create corresponding fields within the table view.

The Dropdown Selection

Using the dropdown selection, the answers of the respective languages can be provided with a label. This way you can clearly indicate from which of the forms the answer was generated. To do this, create a new control type and select "Dropdown selection" from the possible types.

Since the dropdown selection is only to be used for creating a label, there are certain settings you can make so that people filling out the form do not see it.

Visibility

Once you have given your label a name, description and possibly a placeholder, you can hide the field from respondents by opening the dropdown next to "Visibility" and selecting "Hidden".

You can then create the labels you want to choose for the forms. In this case, the languages "English" and "German" have been created as labels. Since the field has been added to the English view, "English" is selected as the "Default".

In the field mapping, the respective field is selected in which the label should be displayed. When assigning fields, make sure that the drop-down selection controls in all languages refer to the same field in the table.
