Within collections, some fields are automatically assigned to the responses, you acquired with your form. These can also be customized in the collection settings. To access the collection settings, click the form name (in an opened form) and click the name of the collection.

Editing field properties

Select "Fields" on the left side of the settings. All fields will be named after the control type that corresponds to them. If a number fields title was "How old are you?" or a date field's title "When is your birthday?", this will be the fields name within the collection as well.

Fields can be reordered easily via drag-and-drop. To manage the field properties simply click on the field you want to manage. We have many different types of fields within Zenkit. Among those are text fields, number fields, formula fields, reference fields, aggregation fields, date fields and many more.

Click "Add Custom Field" below the fields to ass another field for additional information

Various actions are available for each field. Within a collection, you can use bulk actions to adjust the field of all items or duplicate the field. Some fields offer an additional option.

Above that you will find a toggle with which you can publish or hide the field from the public. This is a convenient way to hide additional information from the public while keeping everything else available.

Text Fields

The primary field in Zenkit is always a text field (for example title or notes). It is used as the name or title of an item. It appears on top of an item in the details view. Each text field can be set as a primary field. Add default texts for your new items and choose which editor type the texts should be written in. Click here to learn more about the different editor types.

Default values can also be selected for number fields.

Checkboxes

For checkbox fields, you can also select within the collection settings whether they should be checked by default.

Date field

For date fields, you can decide whether to include time by default, add the current date to new items, or highlight overdue due dates.

Label fields

Change the colours of the labels, allow multiple selections, allow labels to be created within categories or assign a default label.

In addition, you can also add a description to each field.
